Came out a year ago Wayne, saw the movie early this year.

Worth seeing for the awesome photography, bit heavy on the climate activism though. (I don't disagree with their position, it's just that the images, movie footage and time lapses speak louder than the mostly unnecessary words)

The in-laws have a farm here, and around this time of year I have had to help out during lambing and calving. But calving of this scale is way out of my league. ;)

It's said in some circles that no matter how much calving goes on, that there is no significant change.

Those wouldn't be any circles based on reality.

Sorry. I forgot to use sarcasm tags.

[sarc]Those circles also say they in 1800 glaciers were just as small[/sarc]

in recent years the franz josef and fox glaciers have started advancing, despite local warming temps.... warmer temps more moisture in the air, more snowfall... makes more ice..... if changing wind patterns reduce the snowfall in an area then glaciers will shrink

Same producer of the award winning film The Cove, about the dolphin and small whale hunters in Taiji, on the east coast of Japan, and the Sea Shepherd Cove Guardians

If it screens somewhere in Sydney can someone give a heads up?

It's not Chasing Ice, the only I overlap I can find between those two is the Music/Score creater: J Ralph.

Hmm, OK. I didn't look it up specifically. It's just that on the film clip featured in the first post it says 'From the producer of the academy award winning film, The Cove
(Edit, there are some on the production crew who worked on both films)

Chasing Ice looks interesting. I'll keep an eye out for it.

The Cove is pretty horrific. It's dolphin hunting season now, from Sept 1st ( and pilot whales etc). In the first month they also capture bottle nose dolphins for sale to dolphinariums. Anyone interested can follow the Sea Shepherd Cove Guardians on their website or their Facebook Page.
