Sounds like agreat excuse to have a trip. 2 leap years ago my now wife proposed to me over a bottle of meadowbank henry james pinot noir. Silly girl! I will not make it on saturday as I have to work. So good luck and I hope the exhibition is a success.

The exhibition opens this Saturday at 10:30am, and runs for a month. I am still waiting for a response as to exactly when it finishes...
I have asked.
I am hoping as many of you can make it as possible, but if you miss the opening, no matter as they will be there for a while.
If you're in the north of the state there are a couple of other venues that have my photos on display,
Barringwood Park Vineyard cellar door at Lower Barrington (half way between Devonport and Sheffield), and
Tapas Lounge Bar in the mall in Devonport.
Hey, I know what you mean about the Henry James, pretty special stuff!

Phew...
Finally finished assembling the works, and now they're ready to go into the car.
They look fantastic if I do say so myself!
If you come, do let me know what you think (I am also open to criticism where justified).

I now know that the last day of the exhibition will be the 9th Feb.
Thu 06 Jan, 2011 4:54 pm
Just had a look at your gallery, some nice stuff there. Must delve further into it when I've got the chance.

Thanks.
A new website will be coming along, hopefully before too much longer.
And my old site will redirect to it. It's all part of my registered business name, TasmaniART.

Great work Adam, well worth checking out, and good to meet you, free vino today too!
Mon 10 Jan, 2011 9:10 pm
Haha, not exactly free... But all's good. Very pleased to have met you and your wife as well as ILUVSWTAS today too. Good to put a face to the name.
The exhibition looks better than I thought it would, I took most of Friday setting it up, getting pics straight, evenly spaced etc and working out what to put where.
It will be there until end of 9th Feb.

Will wander in when I'm down that way in a couple of weeks, always happy to find an excuse to visit a winery! Enjoyed your photos at the Tapas Bar, Adam, a bit different.

Yeah, they wanted some abstract-ish stuff, and some natural, earthy tones, not greens. So I had to turn a few into black/white, something I normally don't do.
There's a forum post showing those images and more,
HERE.

Nice!! Getting some good advertising there Adam!!
How's it all going now??
Sat 15 Jan, 2011 7:55 am
Good stuff. Are they all your own hand-made frames?
Sat 15 Jan, 2011 9:06 am
I understand Adam made them all Nik, they are works of art in themselves, couldn't find a flaw(and I did look) - Just beautiful!

Thanks for the comments.
Here is the newspaper article from last Saturday (with a couple of corrections). I have no idea how they got Huon Pine, I've never mentioned Huon.
Oh well.

A reminder that the last day to view this exhibition is this Wednesday, the venue closes at 5PM.
For people in the north, don't despair, there are two other exhibitions currently running.
One features the Southwest Tasmanian coastline and is at
Barringwood Park Vineyard which is located at Lower Barrington, between Devonport and Sheffield. 16 framed images on display.
Catalogue
HERE. (Designed to read as you tour the exhibition).
The other features abstract in nature images and is at
Taspas Lounge Bar in Devonport, featuring over 30 framed images.
And two more exciting exhibitions opening within 2 weeks - stay tuned for details.
OK, back to making more picture frames...

I haven't managed to see Adam's exhibition, and unfortunately it looks like I've run out of time to get down South for this one; maybe a Launceston one next time Adam?
However I've just come home from seeing an inspiring exhibition of Rob Blaker's work at Ritchie's Mill in Launceston. It finishes mid-February too, so anyone in the North who's interested who hasn't seen it yet should try to get there soon. It's a superb collection of archival quality photographic prints on canvas from all corners of the state. I particularly loved his trees in Wielangta and NE myrtle forest, then there was the Freycinet sunrise, not to mention Autumn snow on the Southern ranges, Tarkine coast.... just to whet your appetiites.

So, I'm heading your way on the 10th unfortunately; where can I see some of your stuff or, are you up for a meeting?
Cheers, Ian

On the 10th in the morning I will be at Meadowbank Estate packing up.
And in the afternoon I will be setting up an exhibition at Campbelltown, further details to be announced.
On the 15th I will be setting up another exhibition, details to be announced.
And there are two venues currently displaying my work, as previously
mentioned.
And I have a number of works here at home near Devonport, yes I am happy to meet.
My
contact details...
Cheers!
