Rainforest species regrowth on Wellington

Hi walkers,
Last time I was up Mt Wellington I was very pleased to see some of the rarer hardwood species growing back, some of them getting sizable now. I did a lot of my early walking on the range in the late '70s, mostly just burnt eucalypt back then and scrub. Gradually the myrtle is coming back, in heaps, but this was the first time I'd noted sassafras. The pictures below are of a sassafras growing beside the Pinnacle track - must be at least 10m tall, diameter at base around 20cm. Good to see!! First attempt at attaching photos, hope this works...

No worries there Swifty, worked nicely.
Good pics too and good to see that regrowth, probably lost a lot in 1967 bushfires.

yeah that's right FF, I know there were some walkers and climbers who never went back up there after the fires as it had changed so much. Apparently the area below the organ pipes had a beautiful myrtle growth, completely wiped out by the fires (as was "Myrtle Forest" on Collins Bonnet - never seen one there!) But the yrtles are making a comeback below the pipes now, getting upwards of 2m now. There were lots of berries out too when I was there - I know some of them, but not all as I'm no botanist! But some more pics below (it was April last year)
