"Middle Ages" Party Last Saturday

We had a little bonfire/BBQ shindig last Saturday, with the theme "Middle Ages". It was a lot of fun, and a friend took some great photos, so I thought I'd post a few here.

It was supposed to be all set up around the fire, but due to the inclement weather, it ended up being set up in the carport near the fire just in case of rain. It turned out that we only got a few sprinkles occasionally during the evening, with the heavier rain holding off until near midnight.

We had a keg of beer (home brew), and jugs of red and white wine (no bottles to be seen), and everyone got into the spirit of it and dressed up for the theme.

A lot of the food was cooked over or in the fire to keep in line with the theme, including:
  • beer bread on sticks (then filled with butter, honey, golden syrup)
  • potatoes in the coals of the fire (then topped with sour cream, cheese, bacon, garlic butter)
  • bananas stuffed with chocolate in the coals of the fire

Thanks Nuts. :-)

Yes, walkinTas and the elf-lady came along. They weren't in costume, as they only made up their minds to drop in at the last minute on their way home from a bushwalk, but it was good to have a couple of BWT people there.

Well the wording was left open to interpretation. I was surprised that nobody turned up
Just wearing a business suit.
