[FS L'ton TAS] One Planet "Overshadow" 50 L Pack

Postby Son of a Beach » Tue 23 Mar, 2021 9:49 am

Up for sale is my trusty One Planet "Overshadow" pack. It has a 50 L capacity, and I believe it is almost identical to the current "Canopy" model ( https://www.oneplanet.com.au/product/canopy/ ). I'm not sure what differences there are (apart from the name and 50g). Perhaps they changed the fabric to get that 50g weight difference. I can't find the original specs for the Overshadow anywhere.

The Overshadow weighs 1.514kg according to my kitchen scales (advertised weight was 1.5kg, I think).

Anyhow, the pack has only been used about half a dozen times, and is still in excellent condition. I'm planning to replace it with a "Tussock" when they become available, for the extra 10 L capacity, and larger pockets.

I've posted a whole lot of photos of the pack in action, below. Partly to show what it looks like in real use, and partly because I like the photos. :-)

COST: $250
(brand new cost for the current Canopy model is $379).

Pick up in Launceston. May be able to arrange transport to other parts of Tasmania.

Would consider shipping elsewhere at buyer's expense.

Hi there! Brilliant array of photos you’ve posted. I’m wondering if you could please advise the size of pack harness/back? Thanks in advance! :)

I can't see any markings that indicate the actual harness size. I ordered the pack directly from One Planet using their online shopping form where you can enter your body measurements. I'm 176cm tall and I'm thinnish, but of course that doesn't help if your legs/torso ratio is different to mine.

The harness is JUST barely large enough for my size, so I would say that it's a medium...ish. I've lent it to young teenagers a couple of times, and they seemed to fit OK.

Mine's marked N/A to back length on the label, I couldn't find much on the receipt or online. So I suspect they are Medium.
Sounds like yours is a similar size to mine anyway, a smidge taller & I like it but if the belt sat any higher or the back length any shorter, it would be uncomfortable with heavier loads.

Yours is definitely a bargain buy.. sheesh :)

Huh. Sorry didn’t mean to undercut you. :-)

Hopefully we will both sell soon. Maybe somebody wants a matching pair.

Love my Overshadow, but picked up a new Tussock last week from Aspire. I think I’m going to like the Tussock even more. Although in hindsight, I’m worried about how much the bright blue might attract bumble bees. Very similar colour to a shirt I used to walk in that the bumble bees couldn’t stay away from.

..Nah, yours first. Have you tried gumtree or facebook? Much bigger audience. Most of my sales go from there now.

Not on Facebook. Have been meaning to put it up on Gumtree. Should get on with that. :-)

Yes, FB is crazy for moving stuff. I joined specifically as planned on an epic clear out and so far so good. Lots of time wasters to wade through though for sure.

I came on here to say that yes, your pack is the same as the Canopy. I had a look at all your pics SoaB and it appears exactly the same as my own 2020 Canopy.

Hi Son of a Beach,

Wondering if you ended up selling this pack or is it still for sale?

Cheers,

Sold! Thank you.

If anyone else wants one, ‘Nuts’ was also selling one recently. Not sure if his is still for sale.
