Requirements...
Gas
Remote canister (lower centre of gravity)
Lightish
Min diameter of pot supports about 14cm when open (due to having a 1L pot with heat exchanger rim).
Less than $100 (approx)
I noted there is the kovea spider and fire maple stove 117t. Can anyone recommend either, or one over the other, or something else?

Primus Eta pot 1L

Just a reminder that some of the multi-fuel stoves can also take canisters.

As a long time Whisperlite user I was quite excited when the Universal came out. But given that I already have a Whisperlite International it seemed pointless to buy the Universal just for the ability to use canisters. It's heavier and more expensive than lots of canister stoves. When my FMS 117T finally arrives then I'll have a nice, light and stable canister stove but still have the Whisperlite if I need to pop down to Antarctica or (more likely) go travelling somewhere where canisters aren't readily available.

I have recently read someone having issues with the threaded brass ring connecting to the gas cylinder on the gas control valve coming detached after possibly over-tightening.

Paired with a remote gas burner...I had no idea they did this..I'll google to see if my old one is compatible.
