Website for cottage industry gear

Bushwalking gear and paraphernalia. Electronic gadget topics (inc. GPS, PLB, chargers) belong in the 'Techno Babble' sub-forum.

TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Someone will probably have posted this site before but if not here it is. http://www.outdoortrailgear.com/ USA cottage industries involved with anything camping/bushwalking.

Found it when I was looking at quilts and I really like the cubin tarp sleeves on Hammock Gears site. http://www.hammockgear.com/hammock-gear-cuben-sleeve/

Also maybe the people on here with their own cottage industries might look at joining them. With our low Aussie dollar their gear would be very attractive.

Lots of stuff to look at.

Enjoy

Bugger, I just know I'm going to find something on those sites that will cause me to rethink some of the decisions I've made, but luckily haven't bought yet. The research process continues.

This is part of a post I put up on the Tier Gear facebook page which lists the Aussie cottage vendors that I know of.

Some of the local cottage makers, apart from myself,I know of for outdoor gear are:
1. Evan at Terra Rosa Gear http://www.terrarosagear.com/
2. Benny at High Range Outdoors http://www.highrangeoutdoors.com.au/
3. Kedan at Bike Bag Dude http://www.bikebagdude.com/
4. Dan at Wilderness Threadworks http://wildernessthreadworks.com/
5. Michael at ...well he doesn't have a business officially just yet but he makes some killer quilts and he can be found at viewtopic.php?f=27&t=21674.
6. Mick at Flat Earth Kayak Sails -http://www.flatearthkayaksails.com/
