TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Nikwax ?

Postby sailfish » Sun 24 Oct, 2010 9:29 pm

I am familiar with nikwax for leather but not the othe rproducts.
I want to waterproof a cotton drill cap, so nikwax for cotton I guess.

Some questions first:

Is for cotton the best product?
Is it really absolutely necessary to use tech wash first as that seems a little pricy per wash?
What is the best, cost effective way or product to wash waterproofed items?

Please suggest, reasonably priced online sources in Aus that carry a good range so I can order every thing in one go to keep postage costs down?

Regards,
Ken
