TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Does anyone know where I can find one of these packs:

I'm after a new daypack and this guy ticks all the boxes but I'm hard pressed finding one locally or on the net.

Yeah I know, I'm being picky. The pack is exactly what I'm looking for.
I contacted Arcteryx directly but they couldn't help me because they've discontinued it and there aren't any resellers in Aus.

I might just have to accept it and move on to something else.

There is a newish store in Melbourne that stocks Arcteryx gear. I think they're in St Kilda Road and open to any requests.

Kellys Base Camp at Dee Why in Sydney have them in black for $134.95.
They are very rapid with send outs, so go for it.

Actually, correction to that, they're out of stock, but Bivouac in NZ have them in Black and Everglade (a sulphur colour) for NZ$179,
That's about A$145.
So no need for purple.

I am amazed that you can walk anywhere beyond an hour or so with such a tiny daypack. What gear are you taking with you?

I've done overnighters with a 35 litre pack. I'm sure 30 litres can cover quite a bit too.

Agreed - I need around 30L also. But 18L is minuscule.

Guys this is not a pack for overnighters or anything like it.
This is a day pack for snowboarding and other similar type activities.

Jeez, I just realised it's 18 litres, no idea where I got 30 from... Yeah, that is pretty small. I think my 3 year old might have something similar. :D

The pack is intended as an all-rounder for trail running, motorbike riding, snowboarding, day hikes etc. So I'm looking for something light, durable, as water resistant as possible but most importantly hugging and comfortable for running.

The search for the purple silo 18 has come up nul but I came across the Montane Anaconda 18 that is damn comfortable:

Anyone have an opinion on this pack or another that suits my needs?

That's exactly what I've been reading wayno, one of the top trusted hiking brands.
It's the first time I've come across them, their jackets are next on the list if the RAB dies.

Actually, talking about packs Wayne, I'm taking delivery of a Mountain Hardware Thruway 50 tomorrow.
I plan to use that on a little shuffle up to Brewster Hut late May, what do you think of the specs?
