Sparkly New Sleeping bags

I also didn't realise until last night that STS are using Dry Down in their bags too. Has anyone here had any experience with the performance of their Down in damp conditions?

My current sleeping bag is an old, but very trusty One Planet bag. I''d like a new one in the next 12 months. So I'm curious to know whats around so I can watch for sales.

Does anyone know what the dimensions of this bag are, shoulder, hip and foot. I can't find any reference about it?

They have slightly more down then the Micro range. So I guess that means the 3 bags are rated at about -5, 0 and 5???

I don't have a clue about the sizing. I guess we should try to get Andy Milne on this forum to talk about that http://www.andymilnedesign.co.nz/portfolios/sleeping-bags/ He would seem to be the designer in charge of the sizing of their sleeping bags

I found this extra bit of information of the US site. It would seem the lighest of the 3 sleeping bags is rated 8 degrees

They look like they would be very handy here in QLD with our humidity and warmer climate.

the reviews for dry down are reasonable... it still gets damp. just at a slower rate than normal down, the advantage is it dries faster ... still not as good as synthetic bags in prolonged damp conditions. but if you've got some dry or sunny conditions to air them in then they will have an advantage over normal down in how fast they bounce back...

Good info wayno, do you know if other bag makers are using this down now or have STS got it all sewn up.

A few brands are using dri-down this year. http://www.trailspace.com/articles/2012/07/24/water-repellent-down-sleeping-bags.html

I'm not sure how many brands are using it across their entire range. From what I can tell STS sleeping bags may be the only ones likely to be in Australian shops.

Zpacks are offering it too, so there is some close competition for a lightweight model.
