TIP: The online
Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Any recommendations for winter gloves for Tassie rain/snow conditions as of our SAREX we. A single glove? or an inner and outer?

inner and outer give you more flexibility. heat regulation and better ability to use your hands with gloves on...
black diamond or outdoor research make great handwear if you want to pay their prices.... OR give ratings on what temp they are designed to cope with.
primaloft are warmer and hold less moisture than fleece lined gloves. dont expect waterproof gloves to stay dry.
down gloves can actually be quite cold when you're holding an ice axe since the down is compressed, they are really for extreme temps where you won't get rain or melting water running into the glove....

Glad to see I wasn't the only one with cold hands over the weekend!

OR mitts seem well made. I always just used fingerless gloves for working, track work etc in spring/ autumn, just take the outer mitts otherwise in case of occasional icey weather.
OR make a mitt fleece inner (PL liners?) with pull back finger /thumb and little magnets to hold them back. I thought they were a bit gimmicky but they are great! and have lasted well. Good for doing things, phone/nav with the least exposure.
If you're in heavy scrub you can get winter scrub gloves (ie ninja style) haven't tried them.... latex food gloves are better than nothing (for something that weighs almost that) as a liner in the extreme..
