TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Pulled the Trigger on an AARN pack

Fri 11 Oct, 2013 6:18 pm

Hey Guys,

Decided to pull the trigger on the AARN pack. Went for the Peak Aspiration in Long with regular sized balance pockets. It feels great and the team at BPL were great help. Haven't got the bag full yet, but here's a pic:

Thanks :)

Seems great so far. Could not believe how comfortable it was when I first tried it on. Think it'll take a while to get use to the balance pockets, but will be worth it.

Looks good Ryan. So what made you go that particular pack?

Needed a new pack and I originally thought the AARN packs looked ridiculous, but then I started hearing more glowing reviews about them and watched a fair few reviews. I really wanted to cut down on my pack size, had quite a big pack before, and the 47L sounded like the right size. Just really liked the way it felt, looked and operated, so chose that one :)

I think the design makes a lot of sense.

You might have fixed this already but I think your top connections on the balance pockets may be clipped in the wrong place. Pretty sure they should be below the elastic. I haven't used my new pack yet so don't know for sure!

Yes, the sternum strap should be moved up and the pocket clips fit below the sternum strap.

Good spotting Strider.

This website is slowly devolving into an Aarn fan club. =D

Yep, I've also joined the club. Although I think you mean "evolving".
