Chinese military shovel

This is more for car camping than bushwalking but it is the Swiss Army Knife of folding shovels.

If you buy one beware of fakes and they are not cheap, US$88 shipped, from the manufacturer's web site.

According to http://www.wjq-308.com/en/default.htm 1.0 kg net weight and 1.5 kg gross weight for the original 18 function model. I assume the gross weight includes the case.

Not cheap for a MIC product. Looked pretty solid.

I think you'd be better served acquiring the Cold Steel shovel if you're after a novelty of this sort. It's only drawback, so far as I can tell, is its name: the 'Special Forces shovel' :mrgreen:

I think it is from Silverado (1985) but Shazam could not identify it on the Chinese video so perhaps it is a composition based on that. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZcSNQNm ... ata_player for the Silverado theme.
