TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

I'm lost... I think something has gone right over my head (no surprise there, I suppose :) ). What are you asking me? Or is it a rhetorical question, anyhow? What's invaded the site? Can I go back to sleep?

Nik it was a rhetorical question and it is a cleaning cloth link that tW posted with a suggestion that I would already have them it was only friendly banter :)

Has anyone come across a cleaning cloth that looks like yellow netting? The mesh openings are about 10mm and the material is like a hardish plastic. Thought it was a good idea. When it is scrunched up it scours very nicely and all that is required to clean it, is to stretch the mesh open in some rinsing water and the foods scraps just drop out. Nothing really to get caught on and stick to, which is the problem with clothes and wipes. Any hints on where I can find some would be welcome?

I used to use these for scourers at home for items that would otherwise scratch easily. I can't remember where I used to buy them, but I'm sure I wouldn't have gone anywhere special for it, so just the dishwashing cloth/scourer section at the supermarket, I think.

It sure would rinse out easily, and would be a good idea for walking. I'll have to see if they're still available at the supermarket. I hate using a scourer for a week when I can't rinse the week-old greasy sludge out of it.

Good lord! This thread looks like it's got split personalities or something! Corvus - Don't drink and post! It gives me a hangover just reading it! :P

About the cloths though. They look awesome!!! I think I might have to look into getting some.

..... now if someone can just work out how to do the same thing for the old pooper paper, we'll be set!

Hey Corvus, do you realize you can edit your posts? You can go back and add a smiley or clean up a spelling blooper. I don't care if editing old posts is not Kosher, I do it anyway.

You can buy them here.

Yes. They are as good as the ads. A few drops of water and you have a cleaning cloth 8 inches (25 cm) square. They rinse out, dry quickly and last multiple uses. And so light to carry you can take a weeks supply.

well as the gear freak I will need to try them (do they have a web site where you can get a FREE sample its a Scot thing ) If not how can we justify this cloth when my regular wipe is 60x 30 and weighs less than 1/4 ounce (dont have metric scales but I think that is .075 gm)which are boring white and just cloths not wee magic discs to entertain the tenderfoots :)
