TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Macpac Module

This question could lead you to believe I am very silly and stupid. Well, perhaps I am!

I picked up a macpac module at a garage sale some time ago. Being led to believe that it integrates onto macpacs rucksack, and so useful for side daytrips as a bag to be used just itself. I have one of the NZ made Esprit's, it's almost 10 years old, to give you idea of the model. Now, I can make this thing attatch itself to my pack, but it seems cumbersome and not quite right. Is there an intended way the Module will attatch to the Esprit? It's not obvious to me!

I also have a Macpac Module which I bought ages ago - haven't used it as much as I thought. Anyway the way I fit it is on the side of the pack threaded through your packs compression straps (I have a Macpac Ravine but the straps look similiar to the Esprit). Best to initially fit it with the module empty (and the pack full) and the zip end of the module being at the top. When you fill the module up you may need to tighten the modules black waist band to give it a tight fit against the pack. Hope this makes a little sense.

Yeah, this is one I'd considered. I'd really like the module to be more easily attatchable/detatchable so I might replace the plastic loops on the module with something else like the buckles on osprey add ons or the clip style buckles on aarn packs.

I agree its not the easiest system to attach and those straps seem very long to tuck away - perhaps thats why you got yours at a garage sale and I have only used mine twice in 8 years

Best of luck with the modification.
