TIP: The online
Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

I was just wondering where you all buy your gear and I am really just looking for reputable shops to buy from as I need some gear. I guess the store you buy from is the one that has the stuff you want

One shop that seems to have plenty of stuff is
http://www.hiking.com.au, has anyone bought from that place ??
Thanks for any shop suggestions.
Cheers.

Depends where you are. You can't go past Alpsport in West Ryde - and I'll say that having worked for 2 of their competitors.

Here in Launceston, I mostly use Mountain Designs and Allgoods (local shop). I just discovered we have a new Macpac store here the other day too, but haven't tried them yet.
When shopping online, I'll use almost any shop that appears to be reputable in terms of customer service, and which has the cheapest price for whatever I'm buying at the time.
