My favourite :"Gadget"

Bushwalking gear and paraphernalia. Electronic gadget topics (inc. GPS, PLB, chargers) belong in the 'Techno Babble' sub-forum.

TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Lol, hmmm you may be right. Especially if you put an egg in it then put it in one of your walking buddy's packs. Then it would be awesome.

Seriously now...

It looks like some type of spring device - but I can't see it working as a tensioner, and I can't see a reason for the bellow in the middle.

How a bout a hint?

Not rare and i didn't know they were still being made, but I think it's cool that something so simple has lasted this long and has done a great job .

I read the thread o milk powders and wondered why no-one mentioned this little widget as the solution to the problem of getting FC milk powder to dissolve easily.

I just had a look at the instructions on my milk powder, full cream , :
add 1.3 cups of milk powder to 2 cups of cold water and mix And I think this is the best way to get lumps....
What I do is to add a lile bit of water (tepid works best for me) to the milk powder , mix then add more water.
(With a fork (or my long spoon in the bush. The fork works best)
Basically I make a slurry and then keep diluting till it looks right...

Just put water into 250ml nalgene bottle top up with milk powder - to taste, shake until mixed, it doesnt take much shaking. Can carry it for the day for brews as well.

What you see in the picture is my "Dedicated" milk container, 500ml decor ( why spend $10- when $4- will do the same job?) The little gadget makes mixing the milk so much easier and if I mix it double strength lasts me most of the days needs.
I just wash out an give a Bi-Carb soak at the end of each trip, I actually prefer the Decor to Nalgene for this purpose
