Best rechargeable batteries?

Something that you might get 1-2 years out of, and is comparative to Energizer batteries (if possible).

If not, just the best you know of, have, or have used!

Imedion, Powerex, Eneloop. All are good.

Even the best batteries though will be killed quickly by a cheap charger. Have a look for the Maha c-9000. Don't use any chargers you may find at a supermarket.

Sanyo make the best in my experience. A lot claim higher mAH ratings but struggle to achieve it and then hold it. All the higher rated than the 2000 mAH Eneloop ones after a few weeks struggle to be above this rating.

The Eneloop may not have the headline mAH rating but will hold their charge for a month at least, and work in unfavorable temperatures. They have about 2/3 capacity of equivalent lithium cell.

Duracells I have found to be poor performers. Many unfamiliar brand names made in China are junk. Sadly it is too easy to make any claim to capacity and longevity.

Yes those Eneloops are good. I suspect that the Panasonic Evolta are the same...
Avoid quick chargers .

I have heard Powerex, and Eneloop are rated.

Most chargers kill batteries. The better the charger the longer batteries last. Below is that to look for.

1. Each cell charged individually.
2, Delta wave cut off.

The above are the basics that in my opinion are mandatory in a charger.

i've given up on rechargables. try using lithium bateries instead, they really last and are very light to carry.

If cost is not an option lithiums are the bee's knees. I use them for extended walks but find Eneloops more than good enough for overnight walks.

Good point on lithiums. Have not tried Eneloops. Will try.
Agree with Franco. Have been in doubt with the performance of my 15 minute charger.

I have used Eneloop and Imedion, and prefer the Imedion.

Yep, that's the one. Brilliant charger. Shows how much power the batteries took, if you're not happy with that give them a discharge / charge cycle (or several), still not happy & recondition them. Normally though, I flatten completely & fully recharge afee times for first use of new batteries, and they're fine.

Having played a bit with mh-c9000 and what I can say is that I am happy with the charger performance. The analyzer is rather technical and requires hours hours as mentioned by tasadam. I give up on analyze mode and decide batteries in less desired condition are not taken on walks.
