Hiking Pillows

I've got 3 pillows on there way:
Hammock Gear Pillow
AHE Cub Pillow
and another AHE pillow, not sure what it's called.

I'll report on all 3 when I get a chance. Need to put them to the test first. All will be reported on there use in a hammock.
I'm currently using a small thermarest compressible pillow, It's not the best pillow I've found for a hammock. To large for hammocks even at the smallest size they sell. Ideal for ground sleepers.

Nevermind the picture I posted earlier on... in the last few walks i have used a cut down silk liner as a pillow case and I stuffed my jumper/fleece jacket on a few trips and on the last one I put a down vest inside that.
It feels about as firm as my pillow at home and I use it inside the sleeping bag so that it can catch my night slobbering.

The extra weight (pillow case) is 35g but I could cut that in half because it is made for a full size pillow, still at the moment I feel better about having two layers of silk against my face.

If thats case, this is got to be one of the most expensive pillows around!

It's the bear pillow. That parcel should nearly be there by now.

On the hammock note I don't use a pillow anymore at all. I find I lay flatter without one and sleep better. I don't get a cold head if I wear my fleece hoodie to bed.

On the ground I have found the pic of the bunch to be ther exped air pillows. UL or regular in medium size is plenty for me.
I think it's more the shape that makes them work well. They are kinda wedge shaped, lets you use it either way when you turn from back/front to on the side.
Pumped up hard and they firm up, I like a little soft pillow so never inflate all the way.

At least you didn't pay the Kathmandu normal price of $139.95 for their silk inner sheet. Of course it was at least 50% off that price, but i was staggered by the RRP's when i was in there yesterday. (ie Down jacket with a 'high quality' 600 loft down RRP ~$700 )

Back on the topics of pillows, i've always just stuffed whatever clothing i wasn't wearing into a stuff sack. Probably not that comfortable compared to some other options, but i generally don't have any problems falling to sleep after a big days hiking!

I have one of these, pretty decent comfort-wise because of the clever design that is unlike the ballon-style pillows out there, it's sort of ramp shaped so your head stays in the middle, and it packs away nice and small. I don't inflate it all the way either, it's better slightly soft. I'm usually happy with a thoughtfully folded & rolled up fleece though, nice and soft, fits inside the sleeping bag hood nicely, pre-warmed for instant use in the morning

Better than one of these anyway, I think sleep can only be achieved by drinking all the contents first...

well it is real silk..however as a liner it was at the end of its life has it was worned around the end and stitched side.
A mate had two pillow cases made from that liner, one for me and one for himself.
(we could have had 4...)

Consider this maybe for pillowslips? Saw these on E-bay and I'll include the link. Treksilk - says it's 100% silk, then below modifies that by saying it's a synthetic silk but not polyester....sounds like thay are as confused as I am as to what is it actually made of!
