TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

I don't know if I had a bad batch of Metho or not when I done the tests in my first post, But I been getting faster boil times of late, in particular with the Sidewinder Cooking system using Metho with the two Titanium Stakes used. I'm averaging 6 minutes to boil two cups of water using just under 20ml of metho. I think I was getting 8 minute boil times when I first started using the sidewinder with metho.

If using the rubber strap as shown in the image below on the Titanium Cone will rectify this issue with the pot falling through the cone, however as I mentioned before with the rubber strap attached the pot will not fit into the Caddy.

You could do away with the Caddy as some do, this will give you a very lightweight cooking system, less than 100grams, so long your careful how you pack the beer can pot. I prefer to use the Caddy myself, as I can get 3 functions out of the Caddy, Not only is it great to store the cooking kit, it can by used as a cup and bowl.

Pictured below I've shown a Pot Lid with a nice handle, I purchased from Mini bull designs in the states. the handle stays cool to the touch, making it easy to remove the lid. With the beer can pot lid supplied with the cooking system, I've had to use my pocket knife to remove the pot lid, however I've gone back to using the supplied lid as the mini bull designs lid don't fit into the caddy as the original lid. That wooden knob stick out to far. I know, I'm nit picking, but I have to find something to write about. So I'm giving this a very comprehensive review. I can only find very minor things to complain about in regards to the TrailDesigns Cooking System.

One last question,

Why can we not purchase Beer Can's this size here in Australia?

I even purchased a special cutting tool to cut the lids of the pots from the states, but since the tool arrived, I went up town to purchase a can, when I realised I can't purchase the 750ml cans in Australia. :(

A bit of topic, But it's my birthday and it's my post. :D
I just had a Surf & Turf MSA Eye Fillet topped with prawns and scallops in a seafood sauce with chips and veges and now enjoying some Red Wine. I'm full now. That was a big meal. I done a one and a half hour session at the gym earlier this morning so I can justify the big meal.

Back on topic,
I'm going to boil up a hot chocolate drink, I think this time on my Sidewinder Cooking kit using Metho. The Esbit Tablets is to expensive to use at home, I'll save them for camps.

And what better day than my Birthday to celebrate my 1000th post here on the forums. :D

Update on my Caldera Keg cooking system, you might remember I mentioned the Titanium Cone I ordered for my Keg cooking system and the problems I had with it.
The replacement arrived last week and it's a perfect fit now. It's a great system, particularly when the pot don't full through the cone. :D
The hardest thing now is deciding which cooking system to take with me.
