TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Yudelele- Travel Guitars

Postby Nuts » Thu 29 Nov, 2012 9:29 am

A year (or so) ago, I posted a link for these small guitars, not long after- mine arrived woohoo!!
Lol.. anyhow..I thought they deserved another plug, Yude seems like a good fella, doing good things and (from what iv'e seen of other travel guitars) he's come up with a ukelele sized guitar that actually manages to keep a big sound.

I'm not much of a musician, I don't think I could play more than a few recognisable riffs.. This may have been a good thing as trying to pick one of these up as a beginner and then learn in the 'traditional' - copy others- way could be tedious (as they are tuned higher) but physically they are easy to play and suit my 'style'..

Here is Yude's original clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Veo-cdiSt4o

But for those who yawn at the soft melody of a classical guitar here ya go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8miO_g--dk

:)

Now I need to convince him to attach the back with case locks (to store gear lol) and build a Yudeamp

Nice!

I'm thinking about ordering a Tranjo Express, but only for solo walks. Lol.

I look forward to hearing your Yudelele on the track sometime. :-)

Not really practical for bushwalking. Some of the electrics would be (if you could protect them in a pack).. little more than fretboards with pickups, paired with a personal amp would be ok..

I was set to buy a Martin, having played around with the backpacker but it really isn't 'backpack' sized either.
It had the nicest sound but nothing on Yudes lele :)
