TIP: The online
Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Dunlop Volleys have been a shoe of choice for ages for canyoners, walkers and the like. Dave Noble at http://www.david-noble.net/blog/?p=951 finds that the quality has dropped. Has anyone got a good alternative that doesn't cost too much?

I know Roger Caffin swears by his Dunlop KT26s...

Even with normal day to day use here in Melbourne, I go through a pair of Volleys in the space of a few weeks. The soles start to peel away and its game over.
I've always used KT26's when I slip the boots off after a hard day, however nothing beats the comfort of a pair of Volleys.
