TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Canyoning in the Alps: Northern Italy and Ticino

G'day folks,

I know there are a few canyoners who lurk around on this list, so hopefully this book review is of interest.

About a month back I got my hands on this new canyoning guidebook produced in the UK. It is called "Canyoning in the Alps: Northern Italy and Ticino", and is the most detailed English language guide to canyoning in this area ever produced.

Given I haven't canyoned in Europe, I flicked the book to Joe Bugden (who is an extremely experienced Aussie canyoner who has done numerous canyoning trips in Europe). He has done a really detailed review of the book, including some of the photos / maps / canyon topos in it, so you know what to expect.

His basic summary is that it is a brilliant guide, and a must buy for any English speaking canyoner looking to head to Europe. Best of all, it can be picked up online for quite a reasonable price!

I've got a few other overseas destinations already on the "to do" list, but this has definitely jumped high up now.
