Old Macpac harness repairs

Hi All
Long time reader first time poster!, be kind
I used to get dragged along on walks with my Dad and now I am a bit older I am starting to get the bug myself. I have been using some of Dads old gear on my first few walks.
Pictured below is the old Macpac pack, not sure what model it is, maybe someone can help me out there?
The harness is in need of some repairs as can be seen. Does anyone know of a place that will do harness repairs and or replacements in or around Launceston?
I have just received a new Macpac Torre in the mail so I won't be using this pack anymore but I would love to keep it so I can lend it to 'mainlanders' that come over and I take exploring. It also seems too good to throw out, the pack is still in serviceable condition and considering the amount of off track work this pack has done in Tas I think it stands as a good advert for Macpac if nothing else. I recently had a french woman at Dixons Kingdoms who actually took photos of the pack as she was so impressed to see a pack that old up there!
So any help would be great

that could be a torre as well. the model goes back decades..
i remember in the old models had no back pocket or sleeping bag compartment...

you should be able to take it to the launceston macpac shop and they should arrange repair for you....

I have a nearly 20 yr old 65L Cascade, which just wont die. It had a harness repair in the last few years by a bloke in Sth Hobart who makes sails etc, so has a good sewing machine suited to heavy duty materials. He does lots of pack repairs so if you're keen on a drive to Hobart send me a PM and I'll give you his details.
Alternatively, look up a local sailmaker perhaps.
In this age of throw-away consumerism, it's nice to hear other people getting the most out of their old well made packs.

It Lives again!
Thought I might post a before and after shot.
I sent it to Remote Equipment Reapirs in Melbourne and they did a great job.
The shoulder straps look like they are off a current model pack but the back support and waist band have been made custom. Cost me $135.
Ready a another few decades of punishment in the Tassie bush I reckon.

Hey its god to read other peoples woes on an old macpac pack harness in need of repair.
I too sent my (relatively new compared to yours Scotty) Torre off to get new harness done at remote repairs which also cost me a small $70 for the harness repair and a few other straps etc which needed new ones or stitching (I dropped it off and picked it).
In the day macpac made a great canvas bag which very conveniently was fitted with a harness and waist strap....
PS I am in no way connected with the above mentioned repair shop but have used their services many times now and am happy with their work.

Another option is to contact Venus Repairs in Sydney.
They do a lot of work for major brands just like Remote Eqpt Repairs.
Really good people, all are outdoors people and know their stuff.
