TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Sony RX 100 II

Looks like the Sony RX is getting a face lift and a few new features which will help make it more user friendly and its got a new sensor? I was going to buy the RX 100 which is a brilliant point and shoot but think I will wait now for the new model.
Looks like it will be out in the next month or so.

Awesome. I've nearly pulled the trigger a few times to upgrade my Canon S95 with a Sony RX100.

Both the RX100 models look the poo. Maybe now the original RX100 might drop a little in price.
Lets be honest, from a PnS sized camera both models take excellent images.
The fact they are getting better and better for the image quality vs camera size is fantastic.

There, It's out. I said it, Ahh I feel better now

Hey wayno, do you find it's your go to camera or do you find yourself drifting back to more substantial cameras.

no other camera that size has a one inch sensor , puts it in a class of its own for that size of compact.
not as good in low light as larger sensor cameras. thats the main drawback i've found with it. but again for the size it does a fantastic job, you can just put it in your pocket, nice robust case on it as well.

Don't know anything about these RX100 cameras but a friend just came back from Japan and picked these up for under $300. Seemed like a bargain when doing a quick price check on eBay.... Till he found out that the menu is only in Japanese!

Hi ninjapuppet, I have read about this happening some where else as well. This new model is going to have a price premium over the old one, we will just have to wait and see what that equates to in relation to Aussie retail prices. I'm sure it will be more than what it will cost on Amazon etc........
Maybe we should be taking Japanese lessons!!!!!!!
