TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

coming out next year

Pack guru Osprey has quite a few tweaks across the range - the best-selling Talon has had a makeover too - but the most notable update is a completely revamped version of the Exos lightpacker which you can see up there. In a nut-shell, the harness system is now foam-free and called 'Exoform', the alloy tubes in the back-system are smaller, but stronger thanks to better spec alloy, new fabrics are strong but light and the stretch pocket material now has 200% stretch where before the equivalent figure was just 15%. They look more modern too.

One really nice little touch is that the compression straps can now be locked off in the middle of the pack, so you can compress just the top or bottom section if necessary. Sizes are 58, 48 and 38L.
