inner and outer give you more flexibility. heat regulation and better ability to use your hands with gloves on...
black diamond or outdoor research make great handwear if you want to pay their prices.... OR give ratings on what temp they are designed to cope with.
primaloft are warmer and hold less moisture than fleece lined gloves. dont expect waterproof gloves to stay dry.
down gloves can actually be quite cold when you're holding an ice axe since the down is compressed, they are really for extreme temps where you won't get rain or melting water running into the glove....
