TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

I reckon we may be at an advantage in North QLD - given our standard formal and industrial wear is a pair of double pluggers. The original minimalist, zero drop footwear :). Well trained feet all round.

Just did a 4 day trip over Bogong carrying 21-25kg weight.
Accidentally left the boots at home but had walking shoes.
They did a remarkably good job over some pretty rough tracks.

I was thinking much the same thing nq111. I have to put shoes on when I'm in the lab and normally can't wait to get back to my pluggers

Sounds sensible. there is plenty of research describing injuries from sudden adoption of less structured footwear, at least in running anyway.

Haven't often been out on my own Franco - but I do like the Moment on those few occasions. :)
The new avatar is under the moon on the top of Bogong.
Must remember to rub it down with a chux in the morning though - would have been quicker than waiting on the sun.
