TIP: The online
Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Hi, I am in the market for an Anemometer (wind speed meter) and are after some advice on them. Ebay has lots of cheap ones on sale that only go up to 95kph. I am after something that can measure more than that and a few extra readings but not break the bank. Some are over $1000!
So any useful advice is appreciated.

Maybe something from Kestrel? I've got a Kestrel 4500, but it's since been superceded. Seems to be fine, but at the upper end of price range. Something like the Kestrel 1000 might work if you're only after a wind speed meter? Just an idea anyway.
http://www.weathermeters-direct.com/product/kestrel-1000-pocket-wind-meterI bought mine from the link provided in the States. Hundreds of dollars cheaper than if I got it here. Mind you, it was a couple of years ago when our dollar was flying.
