TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

WE Second arrow tent, Length enquiry

Hi Folks
Any comments on the new model WE Second Arrow tent?
In particular the internal length.
I am 183 cm and found the first model a little short,
it was 210 cm from memory.

The old Second Arrow was only 2010mm long in the floor.......the current model addresses the "too short" problem for 183cm+ users by going to 2200mm.....so 190mm longer than the old one in the floor length....or about the same as most other standard backpack tent floor lengths. I'm 185cm tall and found my Second Arrow way too short in the floor for me....entirely my fault as I mis-read the floor specs....saw "2010mm" and thought "2100mm" which would have been adequate so the current 2200mm should be fine for most I'd think. Cheers

I tried out the new version of the Second Arrow, to use for 2 pip-squeaks. One of us is very narrow and not tall; the other is very short. My aim was to offset a bit to fit 2 littlies, but it was too short for that - I was surprised, given the specs. To use the whole length, I think you'd have the top of a lofty sleeping bag connecting with the inner at the foot, as it's quite low there. But maybe that's normal for tall people!

Is it possible to check one out in person?

If you are in Sydney johnrs try TrekandTravel in Kent Street CBD. I bought my older second arrow there and they let us set it up in store twice, climb in and out etc before buying it years ago. I was in there recently, from memory they had a new first arrow set up so assume still stock the 2p - it's a WE outlet.
