TIP: The online
Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

All of a sudden it seems as if the market is excluding kids again except at the very top end
I am looking for something basic and simple and no luck yet
Winter liner socks for the 7YO tadpole, I've been doing this long enough that I don't need a teenager at Kathmandu telling me that woollen sox are the "ideal and best" for kids in winter while wearing gumboots
If anybody knows of any reasonably priced synthetic liner socks for kids I'd appreciate the links, the socks do need to be the proper height tho, running sox will not do, calf height
Also when did they stop doing kids Explorers
I'm looking now because there is no guarantee that ALDI will have everything The Widget needs and liner socks are looking to be the hardest to find at the moment
Am I the only person having trouble finding "Real" outdoor clothes for kids?
It's lucky Cecile loves making kids clothes for the fleece and windproofs but socks are not so easy

I just spend $30 at Rays Tent City
Hot pink long johns at $7.50 , 2 tops also pink M & L and also $7.50 and a pair of pink gloves and talking to the store manager no liner socks seem to be in the system for this coming winter
There is a womens long line hooded jacket tho in XS which may fit if we shorten the sleeves a touch

What happened? Tadpole tried on kids size M a month ago and they were too big so that's what I bought, she just tried them on and they are too small. I'll exchange tomorrow We should stop feeding the little beggars

And of course those XS womens tops sold after I left the store yesterday
macpac have kids tops on clearance, if you had to choose between the Astro hooded and the mini Pulsar which would you choose?
How generous are Macpac kids sizes as I'd buy a 10 normally for a 7YO but this one is simply so tall

I find Macpac very good.
Bought my 10 yo a nice merino hoodie, a 2 hiking tops. Also for gear for children they have excellent products, eg I bought an excellent backpack, by far the best childrens backpack on the market. (IMO) its not a day pack, its the real thing. Also they stock children's hiking poles, lighter than ones for adults.
Also I shop on line best site is Cotswold, they have a great range of children hiking gear, regularly on sale, plus their shipping charge airmail is $ A 9.00. I got a excellent pair of children's hiking boots from them recently.

Thanx rocket We have our eye on a clearance hoodie at Macpac but mainly because it's pink
I'll google Cotswold Outdoors later

Ray's outdoor is trying to hit the school camp market now, so that might be worth a go, I think they are trying to brand differentiate between them and BCF.
one thought for liner socks. what about felt? All my boots as a kid had felt liners, easy enough to pop them out to dry, but they don't go wandering. even something like insultex as a bootie inside the gumboot would help.

Looks like I'll be in the USA in May for a few weeks
We will shop over there for old winter stock; we may get lucky and find something suitably pink, I may even find a pull-over midlayer for me
