Trying out my layering combinations for this winter and I have come to the conclusion that I've grown a bit over the last 25 years
My duvet parka no longer fits over any reasonable sort of layering.
I'm actually considering selling it
But I really have added a few centimetres in chest and shoulder size since I was 35 and the XL now only fits over a long john top, when I first bought it I could get the underwear, a shirt and a 300 weight pile jacket underneath it
Not all of it is middle aged spread either
It really is a shame as these were wonderfully made parkas and I've always been of the opinion that ultra high lofting down was the worst option for mountaineering clothing, 650 fill power being probably the best compromise
What's a high quality S/H duvet worth in the market at the moment?
I've modified mine for sleeping in with an Artigi crutch piece so that it doesn't ride up
Not that I don't have enough warm clothing; I'll simply take the DAS clone instead of the downie and use the LW Mont-Bell as a mid-layer and take the Uniqlo for sleeping in
