TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. a 1912 handbook on military footware, its a big download, optical scan of the original...

It may be old but reading though it now it is still highly relevant to proper fitting and design of footwear.
The old Australian Army boot was made for real feet unlike the new one and I always found them very comfortable. I guess the American army last was used for the boot here up until Vietnam
