International Warranty?

TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

International Warranty?

Hi,

Just a quick question regarding warranties on tents.

Do they generally come with international warranties? Can I return a tent bought in the US to the Australian distrubutor?

Thanks.

Hi,

My experiences with international warranty is with electrical good such as cameras, but the general policy is that unless the manufacturer states that it is an international warenty you'll need to return it to the place of purchase or distributor in the country of purchase.
Generally the Australian distributor here isn't going to be that keen to help you out because they've not made any money off you by importing the product into Australia. You may get lucky and they'll help you out, but if your purchasing stuff cheap overseas then thats the risk you take.
Something like a tent is going to be repairable by 3rd party anyway, so the downside probably isn't that bad.

Cheers
