Hi Andrew, thanks very much for the feedback. I would be interested to see what the new buckle design looks like, or trying one, I'll email. Interesting about the reasoning behind using metal, seems fair enough in that context.

I just use my Aarn Natural Balance without the front pockets, about 60L so heaps of room. Much more comfortable than any day pack I've used.

I use a 38l One Planet vertex and some times use my Macpac Esprit 65 FL, both are very comfy packs.

I use an old ( 16 YO now ) WE "Tour-Jour" original capacity was 42 liters, somewhat reduced no due to te large number of repairs I have had to make.
Just a little on the small side for day & a half but perfect for skiing out of the village for the day, holds all the usual emergency gear plus lunch with a little room to spare for the camera and fun stuff
