TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Thu 31 May, 2012 11:20 am

So I just did the pulk ski-pull into PV hut and I need new poles, my old poles can't be straightened, ( wasn't really much of a fall but both poles are too bent now to use the adjustment ) and the truth is I have never really been happy with my old Gipron adjustable poles. need recommendation please 145-150 and the ability to take extra large powder baskets

I have been searching myself and it seems that these days the only long poles are for skating skis for speed.
in which case I am open to suggestions on ways of joining two cheaper poles together to make one 145 pole, any known sources of aluminium tube with an 18mm internal diameter??
I was thinking I could cut and shut a pair at the top end
