I want to add some of this to my pack, but not sure where to get me some, I know I can get the stuff that you use to wrap things down with the hooks on them, but thats too thick, looking for something thinner to use on my pack.
Anyone know a place in Australia to buy some, I will go down to my Mitre Ten and see if they have some, I know they have cordage, but not sure if they have any elastic cordage ???
Cheers.

You can usually find the fine stuff at haberdashery shops (sewing and fabric supplies). The useful stuff around 3mm can be more difficult, but try clark rubber or marine supplies.
I've bought some good quality shock cord from Whitworths Marine:
https://www.whitworths.com.au/Bunnings has it too, (Mitre10 probably as well) but lower quality, and a bit larger than ideal.

I was goggling and it seems it's used for making jewelry, so I was thinking of going to a sewing and or fabric,Handycraft shops ect to find me some.
I take it 3mm is the agreed size to be used, I just want it to strap on the back of my pack to make a little more storage space on the pack, maybe dry some socks on it ect

Cheers.

John,
3mm is commonly used as the under cord on gaiters if used on jewelry it would" kinda funky"

I was thinking the 1mm cord for jewelery or 3mm or more for really chunky jewelry

So would 3mm be fine for my pack, or thicker ???
Cheers.

3mm should be fine for your pack.
Here's the whitworth's product:

I'd go with the Whitworths one. They have a variety of sizes, but 3mm is the maximum size that will fit through a toggle.
I got some 2mm stuff from a sewing shop. Whilst fine for what I wanted it for, it's just not resistant enough for what you need.

I get mine from hobby shops. That thickness is used for launching model gliders.

Outdoors shops might stock it - the last time I purchased some 3mm cord was from Allgoods outdoor store in Devonport.
