TIP: The online
Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

From fuel-efficient stoves to emergency shelters to versatile headlamps, outdoor companies have been busy designing and refining new equipment to make your backcountry campsite warmer, lighter, safer, and more comfortable.
Here are a few highlights of winter and spring 2013 gear that make their debuts at the Outdoor Retailer trade show next week.

Thanks Wayno,
It is always good to see whats new, there should be a "whats new section" in every outdoor shop.

Thanks +2,
I think 90% or so of walkers are overly obsessed gear nerds (I consider it a substitute for actual walking which is limited by real life) so this stuff is always fun to read.

it's also motivation, forking out for new gear is extra motivation to get out there and use it....
