Hi guys,

First post here. Taking my Hilleberg Nallo 2 for the first time for beach camping but someone told me I will need to get sand pegs. Just wondering which one of the below pegs would be the best for sand?

1. Hilleberg Snow & Sand Peg - 300mm (http://www.hilleberg.com/home/products/ ... s/pegs.php)
2. Supapeg Sand Peg - 370mm (http://www.bcf.com.au/online-store/prod ... escription)
3. Supapeg Sand Peg - 490mm (http://www.bcf.com.au/online-store/prod ... escription)

Also, I'm not sure how many sand pegs I should get for the Nallo 2? The Hilleberg one from above has a set of 6 snow/sand pegs, would that be enough? I was told I will need at least 10+ sand pegs so just a bit confused.

Thanks so much!

6 is probably enough in fine weather. If needed you can bury a stick/drift wood when you need more pegs. Or use multiple normal pegs to improvise.

The snow pegs work fine - I would expect better than the plastic ones (much more expensive though). As mentioned you can deadman the regular y-pegs - at least for the guylines.

If you are really hard up and weight etc not a concern you could improvise with some pvc pipe or something.

since you're forked the cash out on your expensive new Hilleberg,
a little bit extra might be worth it to get these Tough Stakes. They're the bees Knees for sand http://www.toughstake.com/

Yeah - but HEAVY :( . A normal snow stake slung through the centre (hilleberg's are already rigged this way) does much the same.

You can get the Hampton snow pegs locally for $3-4 and just add the tie outs ...

most shops stock those...

A bigger, better quality alloy (but heavier) local alternative to the hampton's is made by Mont. MSR make a similar size, lighter, supposedly (i haven't seen one) high quality version as well.

The MSR are well made and (felt) a bit lighter than the similar sized Hampton .
Love that deep red too, much easier to see in the snow.
( a mate has those as well as the ToughStakes)
