Hello,

I am after a good quality (would prefer Aus or NZ made) waterproof jacket. Would prefer something that is a shell so I can layer underneath and use for warm and freezing weather.

I seen the wilderness wear navigator, million miler and cascade jackets on special. What are these like? Are they really waterproof or just resistant.

Does anyone know anything about the oneplanet wangi jacket and pants?

I am also after pants and just want no frills good quality and water proof.

I've had a 'Million Miler' jacket for years. It has kept me dry and done everything I expected it to do.
The fabric is a genuine three layer waterproof breathable fabric.
Design of the jacket is a little outdated but very functional. It has hood, waist and hem toggles and press studs on the storm flap over the zipper.

For the money it's pretty good

Good to hear. For the $100 is now would you buy another if in need?
How long is the jacket? Not after a dress but something that comes halfway down my backside or a bit longer would be great.I will probably get a size bigger than needed anyway.

I decided to get a macpac prophet as a replacement because I do a fair bit of scrub bashing. That being said I havn't holed the fabric on my old one yet. The macpac cost me over $300. I also got a short MD jacket in Proshell and put a hole in it one the first outing.

The million miler is cut below the waist or what I would consider a regular fit. The cascade is a bit longer I think. I'm 5'10 and the medium fit me correctly.

The Wilderness Wear jacket is probably better value than anything else I've seen for the price.

I have bought the jacket and it should be here tomorrow.

I should have mentioned but it will be used for hunting. So I will be well off track and in the real thick stuff. Hopefully it is as good as I think/want it to be. I do have a heavy duty cotton raincoat for when it is drizzling. It is fine for the warm weather stuff I do but not for when it bucket downs or when cold.

What fabric are these Wilderness Wear jackets made of? Incredibly cheap.

The navigator is nylon and the million miler is polyester.

The strider is polyester 'chameleon' lining.

When you click on the jacket you will see these in the top right hand corner.
'USE RATING CONTENT MORE'

The fabric is three layer waterproof breathable. Although it is called "cameleon" I'm pretty sure it doesn't change color to suit the surroundings so it's usefullness for hunting will be limited to it's waterproof properties. I rate it pretty highly for this purpose though

I received the jacket today.

I ordered XL as I wanted to be able to wear a thick jumper underneath and still have a bit of room.

I thought the XL would be a tad too big but it is perfect for me. I am just under 6'2'' I think and about 86kg.

The jacket seems to be well made. Zips look and feel strong and no problems with any stitching etc.
It is about to rain so will give it a try. I had someone put a hose on me and stayed perfectly dry, the water just ran off like it was wax.

I dont have any experience with mont, OP or any other top brands but this seems like a great shell jacket for me. Perfect for what I wanted and cant argue with the price.

I received great pre sales service and the jacket arrived on time. I also bough a couple of the Wilderness wear microlite travel towels for $2 each. Seem good for what they are no problems. Also a sleeping bag liner which I havnt used but no problems for $10.

Wilderness Wear threw in a set of Bluegum socks. 7-11. I am size 12 so dont really fit but feel comfy as. Defiantly will be buying from them again.

Very glad I got the Jacket (million miler http://www.wildernesswear.com.au/Shoppi ... &retPage=1 ) and will see how it goes in the rain.

It pissed down for about 30mins. I stood out in the rain for 15 and got under the down pipe for another 5mins. Stayed dry.

I'm new here. My son and I are doing the OT in December. I got a couple of these jackets earthwalk.com.au/collections/wetweathergear/products/raincoat-rainwalk from a NZ online shop. I figured if Kiwi dairy farmers rated them they would do me!
