TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Ferrino cubic pack Mezzalama 18 - good for Australia?

Tue 22 Jan, 2013 12:32 am

Ferrino just released a cubic pack specifically designed for the trofeo Mezzalama (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mezzalama_Trophy), a challenging ski mountaineering race. This design is not for everyone, as it is tailored to a specific niche of athletes, but the features can potentially make this pack a good choice for long day walks in altitude. It is a 18lt pack weighting 190g, with loads of features. I am going to get one to satisfy my gear addiction  , and I am interested to know if anyone would be interested. I should be able to offer them at less than $200 and it will be available in March.

Dimension 18lt
Weight 190g
Fabrics • Cubic Tech CTF3, ultra-light fabric in high-tenacity DSM Dyneema® fibre.
Carrying system • Back in Cubic Tech CTF3 fabric • Ergonomic shoulder straps in breathable mesh fabric • Waist strap
Pockets • Shovel pocket • Bottom compartment for crampons
Accessories • Compatible with the H2 bag hydration control system • Internal loops for probe/shovel handle • External loops for ice-axe, second ski holder and pulling in Dyneema® 2 mm rope. • Front ski holder with rapid attach/ release system. • Chest strap • Emergency whistle
