Hi guys,
Long time listener, first time poster :)

I'm interested in sleeping hammocks, and noticed the Hennessy hammocks. I'm keen to try one over night before I drop that sort of cash, and curious if there's any other brands on the market at a much lower price point.

Any suggestions?

Try hammockforums.net it is American but lots of info on every hammock you can think of. Gathered end hammocks are cheap an easy to DIY, you could even make one for your backyard from an old sheet or whatever you have lying around.

Warbonnet are the best known competitor to Hennessy.

+1 for the warbonnet. I have one and despite not having used it much its great!
Hammock accessories are even more addictive than hiking gear!

An alternative style is the Jungle Hammock.
Have a look for DD Hammcks, or one I have is Tenth Wonder http://stores.ebay.com.au/Tenth-Wonder-Hammocks-and-Tarps-Aus?_trksid=p4340.l2563, good vale for money, and quality workmanship.
You can get a start on hammocking for about $100 and see how you like it.

careful, its addictive.

I leave next Wednesday, so looks like postage won't get a hammock here in time :(

Anyone know a place that hires them, or is willing to hire theirs? 8) This would also be a good way to test them to see if they suit my needs!
