TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Blown Sole off Boot -Temp Fixed with Liquid Nails

Tue 04 Nov, 2008 8:37 pm

A friend of mine recently blew to sole off her light weight boots (a few weeks ago) and fixed them up with a dose of liquid nails. She says this got her out of trouble and she has since done 2 more fairly rugged full day trips . Not too sure how water proof but thought this was a good idea to post . She is obviously going to replace them soon but she says that this has bought her some time to look about and she is still able to get out there.Could also be an idea for a small tube in the repair kit if not too worried about weight. Anyone else done this or heard of this repair option? Steve c

I actually use a product called 'Shoe Goo' to repair the scuffs on my ice hockey skates, it works very well and is waterproof.

Good stuff, shoe goo. Also very handy for sealing the toe on a cricket bat, so it doesn't absorb moisture and swell :)
