wilderness magazine mention that aarn are making cuben fibre packs made to order only, if you've got $1000 to spare

Hopefully they put some more information about this online.

I'd be interested in a Cuben Hybrid version of the Natural Balance. However I'm yet to try one on. I would feel pretty bad if I used up the time of the sales person at Backpacking Light in Melbourne and then purchased on direct from Aarn.

I currently have a Pacer 2 tent and really like it. I wonder what a Cuben version of that would cost

You won't be able to purchase one directly from Aarn. They only supply mail order to countries where they do not have a distributor. FWIW, the owner of Backpacking Light is the Australian distributor.

i doubt that would apply in this case since these packs are made to order and they would be shipping the packs out to most people anyway, regardless of location. it mentions the stronglight and ultralight models as cuben options plus sport and expedition pockets

I would expect Aarn to use his current distributor networks (where they exist) for sizing and ordering and to then ship via them for the final "fit".

At $1000 a pop, you'd want to make sure it was right.

you can easily bypass the stores, aarn will ship loan packs to people to try the packs out before deciding on purchasing
not all the shops know how to fit people properly for the packs anyway, the level of knowledge from shop to shop can vary from previous comments made on this forum..
