Has anyone come across this range of gear?
Nordisk - Danish based
http://www.nordisk.eu/products/tents.html

I see a Tarptent Scarp 1 and 2 look alike, Hilleberg Nallo GT look alikes, Hilleberg Tarra (no intergral pitch though), etc etc
I guess there's only so many tent configurations possible

UK based blogger review of the 1 man Telemark
http://blogpackinglight.wordpress.com/2 ... er-review/

The UL telemark 1 p tent is 770g, the 2 p is 880g

You're right. The resemblance is a bit startling. (Lawyers at 10 paces?)

There are only so many shapes available when you use two or three poles so the Nordisk do look like other tents particularly other Scandinavian tents (Norrona and Filjaraven come to mind ) but the details often make the difference.
For example the shape of the Telemark is similar to the Scarps but far from the same.
Just this morning seeing a puddle between the corners of the Scarp 1 my mate was using reminded me of the importance of guying out the center strut (he had not done that) as well as the fact that if the center strut was not there at all the puddle would have been much larger...(no damage done, just not quite right)
Anyway this should make the differences a bit clearer :

Never heard of Nordisk tents before but I'm rather taken with the Telemark ULW 2.

Anyone want to buy my brand new, never-used Protrail? :)

I'd be interested in the Protrail if I had any money

it's a nice looking tent - I looked at its big brother the Mo-trail when i got my TT. For solo use i have a hilleberg akto, which is obviously a good tent, but I like the idea of the protrail - the akto is like being in a strangely wide coffin...

Cheaper at ultralightoutdoorgear, and shipping for only $20.

I wonder how it really shapes up in bad weather compared to the Akto. The wind tunnel vid is quite impressive at 90km/h

Is the Nordisk Telemark 2 Carbon ULW Tent basically a scarp 2 at half the weight ? Very interesting

It's very similar in design and in between the Scarp2 and the Scarp1 for size.

And lighter than either Scarp.

Well if you do want to sell it, differently interested, now that I have scared the living daylights out of my wallet looking at Zpacks and Mountain Laurel Design options :)

Wiggle will usually price-match, and keep the free shipping. Plus, once you spend a little money there they give you 10% off all full price items. I have bought a lot of cycling gear off them and they are great to deal with. It's a shame they use Auspost instead of DHL now.

I am a Wiggle gold customer. Personally I prefer that they use Auspost so my shipments are delivered to my parcel locker. I'm not interested in chasing merchants to price match. The merchant offering the most competitive price will get my business.

DHL used to deliver to my door, before schedule. Auspost dump a 'you were not home' letter in my mail box, regardless of whether i was home, and are often behind or barely on schedule.

Maybe good for you, but not for everyone.

Deliveries to my Auspost parcel locker are very efficient and I can collect them at my convenience.

Courier deliveries to my residential address without exception always require at least one re-delivery attempt and often a wait while the courier notifies me by snail mail.

Had exactly such a fiasco with DHL only last week.

Hehe - well you are not the first to ask, but really I was only half-serious.

As mentioned I'm quite taken with the Nordisk and would like to buy one, but it makes no sense for me to take a loss in my unused Protrail.

However if you are planning to buy a new Protrail then I could offer a reasonable discount on the current price.
