I tried playing around with this idea, but decided I needed to carry the pegs anyway so gave it up.
My reasons for abandoning the idea were:
1. the ideal way to use the guy ropes, ie gives the most strength in bad weather, is to have them fully extended. That means you have to pretty long cord on the floor tie out.
2. on tight spots and uneven ground you might have your guys running through/over bushes rocks etc so you might not be able to get your floor cord to reach the spot where you have pegged out your guy.
3. More fiddly to play around with cord when trying to put up tent in the wind. When I put the Akto up I peg the floor down on the end which is going to be pointing into the wind, then put the pole in, then peg out other end of the floor. Tent would fly around alot more if it was tied to a peg by a long piece of cord
Having said the above I do carry extra cord incase I cant get the peg in exactly where its needed, no room for adjustment with those rings.
I have been using an Akto for a couple of years and only had to use cord a couple of times, mainly on platforms.
So my advice is carry some cord but dont abandon those four pegs.

- The worst place so far I have had to pitch the Akto
