This is pretty neat.

Fuji has just announced the X-M1. It's about the same size body as the X20 as well as the compact micro 4/3rds cameras (GF1, GX1), takes the full range of X Series lenses, and has the same sensor as the X_Pro1/X-E1. It has a tiltable rear LCD but no viewfinder or optional viewfinder accessory.

Announced with the camera are two new lenses. The 27mm/2.8 Pancake and the 16-50mmF3.5-5.6 OIS zoom. These lenses differ from the existing range of X series lenses in that they do not have an aperture ring on the lens body. They still use glass elements, but there is more plastic in the construction than other lenses in the range. They come with 'XC' moniker instead of 'XF' for the rest.

I don't know if it is the smallest camera with an APS-C format sensor in it, but it must be close.

Rico has a bit of a first look of a pre-production camera up on FujiRumors. Looks like the AU price with the kit zoom will be about $1049
