TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Cloudburst 3 on order

Whelp, just ordered my Tarptent Cloudburst 3!

Turns out Henry missed my first email, hence the longish delay, but was very helpful once I got in contact with him. Now he's off hiking again but someone else at Tarptent has been answering my inquiries. Ordering for this particular tent is not as streamlined as for the others, i.e. you can't get many of the accessories for it yet (ground sheet, liner). Also there doesn't seem to be a simple way to request seam sealing -- you have to contact them directly whereas I would think it'd be much easier to add it is as purchasable option, but these are minor things. All in all a very good company to deal with so far and the tent itself looks awesome. Can't wait. Will post updates when I receive it.

Don't stress about the footprint. Order some Tyvek from Lady McGuyver on here instead.

No I'm not stressed at all. I can get Tyvek on ebay (or here) or polycro from Gossamer Gear. Just commenting on my ordering experience in case it's interesting for anyone else here.

Ah yeah I left that bit out. Well delivery was $50 for the tent + extra pole, which is expensive but about what you'd expect. Total with the extra pole shipped was USD382 or about AUD420 after Visa's cut. Not super cheap but quite competitive I reckon, especially considering I was comparing it with a Hilleberg Anjan 3. Weirdly enough the embedded USPS software wanted to charge me $85 if I added a few metres of cord, so I left that out. Ill probably go through Zpacks to get some extra cord and pegs (and maybe tyvek) because their shipping costs work out to be much more reasonable.

Sorry about that, it is a problem with the software.
The system is guessing the extra volume needed as well as the extra weight, it isn't good enough to work it out correctly.
Just send an E Mail to info@tarptent and they will adjust the charge manually.
