TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Kovea Titanium stove

Postby Penguin » Sat 27 Dec, 2008 8:09 pm

Hi all

My trusty Kovea Titanium stove has lost the little bolt the top that holds the three supports for the billy. I am going to go to the local nuts and bolts shop to see if I can get a replacement.

Does anybody have any idea of the what the specifications of the bolt is?

Long shot, but maybe somebody has one and has the measuring equipment.

G'day P ,
Bad news it is a specialised tapered sleeved bolt/screw which I suspect you will need to access through the dealer. If you can get them please advise and I will add one to my 1st aid kit.

Damn. I thought it may be something like that. Thanks for looking Corvus. I will let you know how I get on. The old problem of, potentially, difficult to get hold of 5 cent part stopping a more expensive piece of equipment working.

Fixed the stove

I went to the local nuts and bolt shop. They gave me a little stainless steel bolt that was slightly too long. Cut 1.5mm off the bolt. When you screw it in there is a stop at the bottom of the nut. So when you screw down the bolt, when it screws down to the stop the three wings that support the cooking pot are able to swing into place but they are firm. Yeah! A 20 cent solution for a change.
