TIP: The online Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

Mont ProLight Sleeping bags

Postby Giddy_up » Sat 12 Oct, 2013 9:17 am

Hi all,

Does any one have experience with Mont ProLight 250 sleeping bags. More specifically the cut and proportions of the bag. I have had a look online and cannot find any dimension specs and have sent an email to Mont asking them the same question and I have not received a reply yet.

Just though I would ask here.

Cheers

Got a great reply from Mont regarding the bag in question. 160cm shoulder girth is the measurement. Based on that I pulled the trigger on one and look forward to trying it out.

Yes Moondog, the bag itself has no down on the underside, just a pocket for you to place your sleeping mat. I told them that I had an Exped UL 7 M mat and they said it would fit nicely. Solves the problem of sliding off the mat in the middle of the night as well.

Mont are making some really nice bags now with their new range. Not a fan of the "enclosed quilt" style as part of the point of a quilt is versatility (i.e. you can open it up fully in hotter weather) but nice to see them doing properly lightweight bags. Now if they would only apply the same know-how (and light weight fabrics) to their down jacket range I might buy one!

The Icicle would be a cutting-edge jacket if it were 250 grams lighter and had 850+ down.

Well I got my new mont bag and had to send it back, it was just to small for me. The measurements as listed must have been external and not internal circumference, so it was just way to snug around the shoulders. Its a shame to because it was a well constructed and thought out sleeping bag using some nice products that would have really fitted the bill up here in QLD. Bugger!!!!!!
